Donna W. Bruce, CPA
Donna is a BKD Private Client Services advisor and serves individuals, family groups, and closely held business clients, including flow-through entities such as S corporations, investment partnerships, and family partnerships. She spends a significant amount of time providing compliance and consulting services related to income, retirement, estate, and gift tax planning. She also works extensively with tax-exempt organizations and has served many of Mississippi’s largest hospitals, colleges, universities, and their respective foundations.
She has more than 30 years of experience in public accounting and serves as tax director for the Mississippi office of BKD.
Donna is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Mississippi Society of Certified Public Accountants, where she serves as past-chair of the taxation committee and past-chair of the society.
She is a graduate of Leadership Mississippi and has been recognized as one of the Top 40 Under 40, one of Mississippi’s 50 Leading Business Women and one of the 2016 Leaders in Finance by the Mississippi Business Journal. She is a past chair of the Mississippi Tax Institute and currently serves as president of the Mississippi Estate Planning Council. Donna is a sustaining member of Junior League of Jackson having previously served on the board of directors. She currently serves on the board of directors as treasurer for the Mississippi Children’s Museum and the Eudora Welty Foundation. She served the American Heart Association on the Go Red for Women® executive leadership team for 2018 and 2019.
Donna is a 1987 graduate of Mississippi State University, Starkville, with a bachelor’s degree in professional accountancy.
Patricia Quintana-Perron, CPA, CHBC
Patricia focuses on the tax and consulting needs of ultra-high-net-worth families and their closely held entities and helps design and implement sophisticated wealth strategies. Patricia is the South Region industry tax leader for BKD’s Private Client Services team and serves as a tax technical area specialist on estate and gift tax matters.
She has been in practice for more than 28 years and currently serves clients with strategic wealth/estate planning needs.
Patricia is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants, as well as the National Society of Certified Healthcare Business Consultants, Financial Planning Association and San Antonio Estate Planners Council.
She is actively involved in various community activities.
Patricia is a 1990 graduate of Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi with a bachelor’s degree in accounting and management and a 1994 graduate with a master’s degree in business administration with an emphasis in international studies.
Kara K. Gentry, CPA
Kara is a member of the Houston tax team and has more than six years of experience in providing tax, accounting and consulting services to individuals, pass-through entities and corporations of varying sizes and industries. She focuses on tax issues specific to the architecture, engineering and corporate environments. Kara’s other focus areas include tax planning and compliance for high-net-worth individuals and their small business operations.
She is a member of the Houston office BKD Foundation committee and social committee.
Kara is a 2012 graduate of Sam Houston State University, Huntsville, Texas, with a B.A. degree in accounting.
P. Brinn Serbanic, CPA
Brinn is experienced in the areas of tax compliance and consulting for high-net-worth individuals, flow through business entities, estates, and trusts. As a BKDnext® advisor and private client services office industry leader, she consults with privately held and family-owned businesses about tax planning and wealth transfer strategies. In addition to tax services, Brinn leads the Dallas/Fort Worth accounting outsourcing team, which harnesses technology to provide clients with cloud accounting support and fully outsourced accounting operations.
Outside of serving clients, she is the technical editor for Today’s CPA magazine, the member journal of Texas Society of Certified Public Accountants (TSCPA). She has published feature articles and cover stories on a number of technical tax topics.
Brinn has instructed continuing education courses and presented at seminars on topics such as employee benefit plans, health care reform, estates owning partnership interests, tax reform, and succession planning for closely held businesses.
She is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and TSCPA and has served as president of the Heart of Texas Estate Planning Council.
Brinn is a 2008 graduate of Baylor University, Waco, Texas, with a B.B.A. degree and a master of taxation degree.
